Welcome to the 2nd Edition of Symbiosis Film Festival
Continuing the energy and warmth received from the inaugural edition, Symbiosis International University is now gearing up to support the creativity and entrepreneurship of budding filmmakers with the 2nd Edition of Symbiosis Film Festival (SFF) 2025, with a special emphasis on screenplay writing. SFF provides a platform for national and international short fiction & documentary film directors, artists, technicians, industry experts, and cinephiles to come together and immerse themselves in cinematic magic!
The two-day event is scheduled to be held at Symbiosis Pune campuses in August 2025.

Encouraging Budding Filmmakers!
Aiming to bring together industry newcomers and experts, SFF 2025’s primary objective will be to promote the art of screenplay writing by providing opportunities for young writers to engage with film professionals, while simultaneously showcasing their short-form cinematic craft. In addition, SFF aims to:
- Foster a sense of community among young filmmakers and screenwriters
- Encourage creative collaboration between screenwriters and filmmakers
- Provide educational and networking opportunities for participants
- Celebrate artistic expression through diversity and inclusivity in storytelling
Competition Overview
Short Fiction
Around 8-10 films will be shortlisted for the award consideration.
Duration: not more than 20 minutes
Short Documentary
Around 8-10 films will be shortlisted for the award consideration.
